Texas Rangers investigating Midland officer involved shooting
MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Texas Rangers are investigating an officer involved shooting that left one person injured in Midland on Christmas Eve.
According to the Midland Police Department, around 9:00 p.m. on December 24, officers responded to a call for service at Walgreens located in the 200 block of Andrews Highway. The call turned into a vehicle pursuit that ended in the 2600 block of Delano Avenue.
There an officer involved shooting occurred. One person, whose name has not yet been released, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. MPD said the subject will be charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant.
The investigation has been turned over to the Texas Rangers, which is standard in all officer involved shootings. No other details have been released.
