Dr. Douglas Colson

ENT and Allergy of West Texas

Dr. Colson, a native to the Northeast, is excited to get established in West Texas. After completing a Bachelors of Science at Brigham Young University in Zoology and a Masters of Science in Biology at Tufts University, Dr. Colson went on to earn his medical degree at New York Medical College in 2000. He then completed a one year internship in general surgery followed by a residency in otolaryngology at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, graduating in 2005.

After finishing his training, Dr. Colson took an attending position at UMass Memorial Medical center as a clinical assistant professor. Two years later, he joined Rhode Island Ear, Nose, and Throat Physicians as partner physician, and the Brown University, Warren Alpert Medical School as clinical instructor where he worked in patient care and resident education. He cared for patients in Rhode Island from 2007 through 2018, at which time, he and his family decided to shed the snowy winters of the northeast and take in the sunny days of West Texas.

As a general otolaryngologist, his clinical interests range from common illnesses such as pediatric ear and tonsil disease, to allergy and sinus disease, acute and chronic ear diseases, disorders of the throat and voice, and diagnosis and management of head and neck cancers.
