Gift Shop to Host Grand Opening for Expansion

The Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host a Grand Opening of our Expanded Gift Shop on Monday, October 22 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

President Donna Newsom will present a check to Mr. Russell Meyers, CEO of Midland Health, in the amount of $322,233 for construction expenses of the new area. This is the single largest donation the Auxiliary has ever made to Midland Memorial Hospital. It brings the total amount in equipment and other projects to over $4.5 million since 1950.

Following remarks by Mrs. Newsom, Russell Meyers, and Noe Del Bosque, the ribbon will be cut and the doors will be open for business.

With the addition of space comes the need for additional volunteers to help keep the Gift Shop open. Volunteer shifts are 4 hours a week and are available during weekdays and weekends, day and evening times. Contact Kim Modisett at 432.312.6905 or email kim.modisett@midlandhealth.org for more information.

In addition to the opening of gift shop expanded area, the Auxiliary also plans to re-open the South Information Desk, located inside the new Aqua Entrance near Illinois Street. Volunteers are needed to help with this project also.

During the fiscal year 2017-2018, Auxiliary volunteers worked 25,089 hours in various support areas throughout the hospital.
